“WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS: CELEBRATING HUMAN RIGHTS OF OLDER PERSONS”

The 28th Annual United Nations celebration of the International Day of Older Persons (IDOP), held at United Nations Headquarters in New York City on October 4th will celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948).  The anniversary campaign aims to promote the rights enshrined in the Declaration of Human Rights and what the Declaration means in the lives of older persons; engage broad audiences around the world and mobilize people for human rights; and reflect on the progress and challenges, and ways that each of us, as older persons, can stand up for human rights.  The event is open to the public at no charge.
